By Car
From the North: M6 to Penrith junction 40, head west on the A66 to the turning for St. John's in the Vale to join the A591 and continue south. For The Ambleside Salutation Hotel continue on to Ambleside, and the Salutation is on the left on the brow of the hill.
From the South: M6 to junction 36 then follow the A591 through Windermere to Ambleside. For The Ambleside Salutation Hotel follow the one way system and then take the right hand lane at the pelican crossing and the Hotel is on the left.
By Rail
To Windermere. Continue by taxi, car hire or local transport.
By commercial airline
To Manchester (95 miles). Continue by car hire or train to Windermere, then Taxi or bus. |
