A new challenge has been set for our health club members to complete!
A gold and Silver Medal Challenge has been set to swim the Lakes, Meres and Tarns of the Lake District with out even leaving the warmth of the pool.
A prize will be awarded for the first to finish each challenge, watch out for up dates on the club notice board or via the blog.

Ambleside Antarctic Duo Train at The Salutation Hotel
Claire Marritt and Duncan Cameron have been members of the Salutation Hotel's gym since March 2010; they are 2 of the 5 members of the British Antarctic Expedition 2011 to mark the 100 year anniversary of the epic race to the pole between Caption Robert Scott and Roald Amundsen.
Taking a route up the crevasse riddled Axel Heilberg Glacier, the team will attempt the crossing un supported, pulling pulks and hope to kite ski to the Ronne Ice shelf. This will certainly combine the heroic age of Polar exploration with a little 21st century flair!
We will be following Claire and Duncan's training and of course the epic adventure it's self on our blog, Facebook and Twitter pages, the expedition takes place in November 2011.
We are delighted Claire and Duncan were so impressed with the facilities and equipment at the Ambleside Salutation Hotel and Spa that they have chosen the Club as a base for their training for this mammoth event.
We wish them every success in their mission and will be following their progress with regular updates....Good Luck guys!
